Virtual Learning - Data Analytics Specialist, SUMMER Series 3
The finale of the summer series where students independently applied their newly learned technical skills to solve real world challenges - using MySQL, Tableau, and advanced Excel analysis to solve real world business challenges, such as:
Budget management & prioritization
Customer traction & trend analytics
Supply / demand gap analysis
Product portfolio performance reporting
Students worked in groups to define client requirements, perform comprehensive business analysis resulting in resolution strategies they presented for their clients.
At the end of the experience students received feedback scores as ‘advisory teams’, and most importantly, closed out the multi-day experience feeling confident in their professional abilities to take on the real world!

More data, more mock clients, more problem-solving experiences! Students work through a variety of client requests navigating multiple disjointed datasets sourced directly from a Cloud data warehouse. Through this program, students learned the end-to-end fundamental methods of data management, JOINs, and visual analytics, covering skills of:
MySQL custom queries and order of operations
Objective of different data JOINs, and quality assuring results of JOINs
Building expertise in data analytics using industry-leading visualization tool Tableau
Presenting final results in both - intuitive Tableau Dashboards and crisp Powerpoint presentations with linked Excel Charts

Virtual Learning - Data Analytics Specialist, Series 1
Data is everywhere, and utilized by everyone – regardless of business size, industry, or department. Being able to confidently navigate, analyze, and strategically interpret data is a functional capability that many organizations strive to achieve in their employees or new hires. Starting from a ‘client request’, this program will train students on how to independently manage the end to end process of a real world data analytics experience. Crafted specifically for liberal arts students, students will:
Learn to clearly define client or management requests
Extract custom datasets via SQL query language from a data warehouse
Develop advanced Excel methods to conduct ad-hoc analysis and learn key custom commands that are common across platforms (IF, AND, OR)
Build dynamic and intuitive dashboard visualizations to best interpret and present results to a client or leader
AESOP Virtual Learning - Professional Readiness Program
Through a series of live virtual lectures, real-world mock client scenarios, and a group project case, AESOP’s Professional Readiness program introduces business concepts and the technical skills required to develop as a hybrid and dynamic employee. This multi-disciplinary program will cover the in-demand technical skills and essential soft skills to exceed expectations from day 1 in your future careers.
REAL PROJECT EXPERIENCE
During this 4-days Spring workshop, students will be doing a live project case supporting a local non-profit, Hopeworks, with newly learned business analytics skills. Using a mix of Excel and Tableau, students will manage data, analyze trends, and identify key insights to help the client with their problem statement. Not only will students learn project management and client communications, they will also get the opportunity to make a positive impact with data analysis!
